Physics Course Description - Tennessee Department of Education Physics is a laboratory science course that examines the relationship between matter and energy and how they interact. This course will have a strong emphasis in the mathematics of physics. Students explore physics concepts through an inquiry approach. Embedded standards for Inquiry, Technology & Engineering, and Mathematics are taught in the context of the content standards for Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Waves and Sound, Light and Optics, Electricity and Magnetism and Atomic & Nuclear Science. |
Physics Course Description - Mr. Kelly's (English) Version This version of physics is an upper-level, math heavy, laboratory science which investigates the fundamental rules behind the way the universe operates. There will be considerable focus on proper lab technique (measurement, calculation, and presentation). Depending on the material, focus will vary between conceptual understanding and computational ability. Topics include the description of motion, forces, energy, electricity, and wave motion. Additional topics of study (within the standards, of course) will be student selected if time permits. |
